Golden Bear has been manufacturing outerwear in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco since 1922. They are a local, family-run business and have the ability to manufacture in small batches. They shared the same ethos as Unionmade with a focus on quality and timeless styling. Our partnership was natural. For this collaboration, we used a beefy, 32 oz, navy, Melton wool. The classic and modern silhouettes were all detailed using corozo nut buttons, custom plaited wool ribbing and full cotton lining. For the creative, I wanted to show the craft that goes into each garment and for the imagery to have a distinct look that reinforced the idea of authenticity and craft. Once again, I partnered with Andrew Paynter and shot the campaign on film. Based on the success of this collection we reintroduced it annually with updated details and silhouettes.
