UNIONMADE + MILL

I founded Unionmade in 2009, after working through progressively higher-level creative positions at Gap Inc. and finding myself in need of a creative change. My vision was to create a retail store that carried only the best-of-the-best products, with a focus on menswear.  At that time, fast retail was dominating the market and I wanted to deal in products that were well-made and got better with age.  Quality was the driving force with everything at Unionmade.  From the beginning, women always asked for a similar concept; which led to the launch of a sister store, Mill Mercantile; located just a few blocks away. Both brands were launched with clean and modern graphic identities that went across everything from storefronts, products, shopping bags, packaging, marketing and websites. With five brick and mortar stores in California and two websites, Unionmade and ‘Mill’ became well known throughout the world for their well-curated and authentic assortments with distinct points of view.
